A tree came (mostly) down in our yard during the last storm, I cut all the small branches off and trimmed everything back to the main trunk. My wife decided that it looked like a dragon (long neck and head), so the project began. The trunk is at about a 30-degree angle, but on a raised area behind a retaining wall. My chainsaw got the tough parts done, however, there is a lot of more intricate work to be done and these are exactly what I needed.So far, although still very early in the process, they have done a great job of hollowing out the mouth and starting to etch out for eyes, etc. I have no doubt it will never look as good as the professionals carve, but we are mainly doing this as a fun project.These seem incredibly hardwearing, durable, and carve quite easily in a pine tree, so they do the intended job very well.
