This is my third Capresso grinder and the best by far. The others were solid performers and gave little trouble, but this is much better. The five star rating is against others in its class, not against all burr grinders costing hundreds of dollars.I highly recommend this grinder for the home user who is simply into good coffee and wants to grind beans at home just as God intended when he created coffee beans. If you are an advanced user and do the whole range of espresso drinks with a sophisticated espresso maker, you would probably not consider this grinder, worried about the finest grind settings and consistency. But, for the average home user this is a great choice. However, I have had fine espresso makers at home and used my previous Capresso with decent results, even preferring it over another, much more expensive grinder I had at the time. Here's what I like so far:1. It's quiet. Very quiet for a burr grinder.2. I have had no trouble with static electricity. Consider, though, that I use coarser settings for French press and drip brew. My previous Capresso had high static charges even at coarse settings.3. Some complained about the thin plastic of the basket that catches the grinds. Honestly, it's very easy to use. Just don't let your pet orangutan near the basket. If you are not accustomed to grinders, read the instructions and you won't break anything. What I like about the basket is that it has no top like the one with my previous grinder. You simply pull it out between thumb and fingers and pour it directly into wherever it is you want to pour it. The large open mouth makes it easy and there is no lid to fumble or drop. This design also greatly simplified cleaning the basket.4. Did I mention cleaning? Here's another great design feature. There is no twisting or wrestling to get the upper burr out for cleaning. You simply lift it out! Really! It doesn't get much better than that. I rarely cleaned my other grinders because it was a hassle. I don't have that excuse with this one.5. Rather than a separate control for grind settings, with this grinder you simply turn the bean holding bin. It's goofy simple, but I like it.The only thing that took getting used to was the little timer twist knob like on a washer, microwave or toaster oven. Other grinders I had either turned off when there were no more beans, or you set it for so many cups worth of beans. With with one, there are just numbers that don't seem to correspond to cup quantities. You just get used to a certain setting for a certain number of scoops in the bin. And if you miscalculate, you aren't penalized fifteen yards. You simply let it continue to grind until the timer clicks off, twist it a bit more to finish off any remaining beans, or turn the holding bin to the far right position as suggested in the instructions if you are the nervous type and can't bear to listen to it a few more seconds.I checked out a number of burr grinders and believe you won't find a better grinder for the price (I paid $89 through Amazon).
