I see comments regarding the assembly of the unit.Yes, this unit require assembly....I believe all u its of this type do. From other suppliers as well. I was pleasantly surprised of the overall quality. It has metal fingers to cut up the fruit. And everything lined up and fit well. Note: the 4 ea. O rings on the shafts of the crusher are there only to hold the mechanism together for shipping....took me a bit to figure this out. They are not used in the assembling of the unit. The handle where it mounts onto the shaft just has a round hole with a screwed pin through the handle. This should be an eccentric hole, in my estimation. It remains to be seen whether this little pin will hold up in the long run. If it doesn't I'll tack weld the handle to the shaft. Regarding the instructions, the U-Tube site titled Samgreen Fruit Crusher" is easy to understand and shows the assembly quite well. I had no problem putting the unit together. Takes a little time, though. Also, don't put the handle on initially like they indicate. Wait to do so until the very end, as you will be turning the unit on edge, upside down, etc. during assembly and the handle being attached just gets in the way. Install the handle after everything else has been assembled. A short screwdriver (phillips head) was included. 7mm is the wrench size for the nuts on the hopper if you have one. They show using a crescent wrench. Well built and designed. Added comments: I have now used the unit and it performed splendidly. Y crushed up over 2 ea, 5 gallons of apples in about 15 minutes. And then they went from there into the cider press. There is no need to run the apples through as some commenters indicated. The pulp was very dry after pressing. Also, several commenters indicated using a power drill to turn the crusher mechanism...DON"T The handle turns readily by hand and it is actually good to turn it slowly, as this allows for turning the handle in reverse to clear out any particles in the teeth during the process. Also found the filling the hopper with apples half full or so is preferable to filling it all the way, as this will allow the apples to move around and feed to the teeth easier. The round rubber things that screw onto the bottom of the frame are spaced perfectly to fit over a plastic 5 gallon bucket. I found no need to build a stand at all. Yes, you still have to hold the crusher now and then, but I found putting my leg between the crusher frame, which extends out from the bucket works real good to keep the unit from moving around. I had visions of having to build a stand, the unit not crushing the apples enough, etc. All unfounded. This unit is designed very well and built well and works exactly how it should for apples. Just put some apples into it and go to work ! I am 100% pleased I went with this one. Can't imagine a better one.
